House Tarly is a vassal house to House Tyrell in Westeros (and, in the show), now the principle house of the Reach. House Tarly have a long standing history as marcher lords in the Reach, forming the military backbone of the region. Before Aegon's conquest, they were a part of the Kingdom of the Reach and subservient to House Gardener, and after the foundation of the Seven Kingdoms, a vassal of House Tyrell. It fought for the Targaryens during Robert's Rebellion, and currently fights for the Lannisters (in the show) in the Second War of Conquest, now ruling over the Reach following House Tyrell's extinction.
