Mago is a bloodrider to Khal Jhaqo, and a former member of the khalasar of Khal Drogo. Mago was a rider in the khas of Ko Jhaqo whilst under Drogo, where he was present for Drogo's wedding to Daenerys Targaryen. In the books, he declares himself for Jhaqo when Drogo falls ill, later becoming one of his bloodriders. In the show, he is disgusted by Drogo's willingness to be pressured by his wife following a raid in Lhazar, and challenges Drogo to single combat: he is subsequently defeated, with his throat slit and tongue ripped out, although the injury he leaves Drogo eventually kills him.
